I created a set of four 5x7" paintings in late April or early May, but couldn't post them then, as I donated two of them to the Arthouse for the 5x7 Show, and they needed to remain anonymous for the run of the show. I think it's safe to post them here now. The two I didn't donate are available for sale; I'll add them to my gallery and shop pages soon.
Anyway, here they are:

Woo-hoo! I've had a work accepted into the 2011 People’s Gallery Exhibition at Austin City Hall! I consider this a great honor. The work will remain on view in the Austin City Hall for an entire year. The exhibit runs from February 18 2011 - January 13 2012.
There will be an opening reception on February 18, 2011, from 06:00 PM - 09:00 PM, with refreshments to be provided by Whole Foods Market.

For the rest of the year, Austin City Hall is open to the public Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The first floor atrium lobby is also open to the public during City Council meetings.
See the People's Gallery Exhibition page for more information or the Events page on my website..
This is my first completed drawing/painting of the year, completed on 1-1-11. I'm returning to working with ink, something I've spent many years doing since at least high school, but this time I'm trying out some experimental techniques. I'm also exploring depicting patterns like those seen in the skin of giraffes and sea turtles.
Vote for this painting today!
To my friends and followers, I have entered this painting into a contest of poppy paintings at Fine Art America. If you like this painting, too, would you mind clicking the link below through to the FAA contest page (my painting is on the bottom row of page 2), and voting for my painting before THIS Thursday? If I am lucky enough to win, it could mean up to one month's exposure on the Fine Art America website. It won't cost you more than a minute or two of your time, and I would be ever so grateful!
Thanks so much!
Marilyn

Testing, testing...
I am testing out both Tumblr and Posterous, as I have a new idea for a blog, and I want to see if either of these are the right tool for the job. There's much to love about both of them, and yet they both have some limitations.
Right now, I'm blogging from Posterous, and it should auto-post to most of my other online social networks, as well as to my WordPress, Blogger and Tumblr blogs. (So, if you see this more than once, don't hate me; I'm trying to work out the paths and any possible redundancies...).
Wish me luck!
